Priceless!

Earlier I rode a jeep going to tondo-tayuman coz I have a meeting with my elder sister. While enjoying the accommodation of the jeep, I try to observe people inside it. I know that the person beside me is an elite person who’s humble enough to ride a jeepney, he has this mobile phone rectangular shape type and it is 4 inches (I’m not plugging in but I think you knew what this phone is) and a headphone with superbass sound that even I’m not wearing it, I could hear the beat of its music. Another passenger of this jeep is a family that caught my attention. The father of this family is carrying his/her child about less than 4 months old judging from his/her size and structure. The mother of this family is cuddling her daughter while carrying a ton size of bag, probably their things and the child’s things are inside. These parents have a face of sadness. Later on, the mother says things that aren't nice to the father, the father on the other hand is just quiet, maybe easing up every word that is coming out from the mouth of his spouse. ………………………..

A few minutes later, all that is left inside this jeep is me and that family. The father reached out his hands to the other side of the jeep’s looooong chair and picked up a coin, a one peso coin. The mother smiled, the father gave the coin to her daughter and the mother was happy since then, actually all of them are happy since then. (If you are catching up to this story, you know now that the family I’m describing here is a poor family) I don’t know but my eyes were getting wet for a few seconds, I remembered that it is really priceless when  you get a hold of something you didn't expect to come out of nowhere, especially money. It was like what I have experienced when I was a twelve years old kid; I was walking on a street and saw a twenty pesos and picked it up, I was happy after picking up that money. I don’t know how to describe my feelings but I think it felt the same way like this family felt after getting that coin.

Anyways, before getting lost to this blog, my eyes got teary not just because of old memories that I remembered but because "why do I have to see people like them?" I knew people that are fortunate enough to spend their money unto something that doesn't really matter to this life. But this family hasn't anything to spend on to something they need. It's really hard to say anything here coz I’m trying my hardest not to point finger to people who doesn't have any idea how hard it is to be on a same shoes like this family. Their happiness is priceless; a single coin could shut their arguments and turn into laughter while their children are rejoicing for that very moment.

If you are a person who has something and you still want more than what you have, try to get out of the street and see these people. Of course you can’t do anything to turn their lives into a fortune of riches and fame but what I am pointing out in here is maybe think twice why you want more? What am I trying to do with these things in my life? Do these things have purpose why I want this? If your answer is yes but the purpose of it is just to satisfy your desires and doesn't think of complementing others, then maybe you have a problem. Maybe you’re an apathetic person who only thinks of yourself.

When was the last time you had a priceless moment of your life? Not just YOUR but with SOMEONE like FAMILY someone.
